Discover the fossils of giant dinosaurs at the Paleontological Museum of Trelew, one of the most fascinating museums in Argentina!.
The Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, popularly known as the MEF, is one of the main tourist attractions in Trelew. In the surroundings of this city, located in the Argentinean province of Chubut, paleontologists have found many large dinosaur fossils. Most of them are exhibited here and it is considered one of the best museums in South America in this field.
With your ticket to the Paleontological Museum of Trelew, you will be able to see the skeletons of colossal prehistoric animals up close. Among them, you will see the magnificent Tyrannotitan Chubutensis, which inhabited these lands in the middle of the Cretaceous period.
During your visit to the MEF, you will also discover some fascinating facts about the dinosaurs of Patagonia. You will learn how they ate and survived and how they adapted to the huge climate changes that took place in that era. The various interactive panels of the museum will help you to answer the questions you have about these creatures. Everyone will leave knowing a lot more about these gigantic prehistoric beings.
The museum's exhibition is divided in chronological order into the following four stages: Cenozoic, Mesozoic, Paleozoic, and Precambrian eras. Within each one, you will find the fossils of the different sub-periods. In the Mesozoic space, don't miss the rooms dedicated to the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods, home to possibly the most fearsome beasts!
